What is DRAM?

Dynamic Random Access Memory(DRAM)

  •        DRAM is used as a main memory of a pc .
  •        Stores operating system files applications and data while they are running.
  •        DRAM stores each bit as an electrical charge within a single bit cell.
  •        A bit cell consist of a capacitor to hold a charge the cell represents 1 if there is a charge and 0 if there is not and the transistor to read the contents of the capacitor.
  •        Each bit cell is very small but is the electrical charge gradually discharge, causing the memory cell to be lose its information.
